Matte Black Modern

After the kitchen, a master bathroom is often the second most exciting space to renovate in a home. This master bathroom from Valetta Design Group embraces a minimalist black, gold and white palette with warmth added through natural wood tones and carefully selected accessories.

Installed in a stacked pattern behind the bathtub and on the vanity wall, Genesi 26 Ceramic Tile in Antracite Matte is featured with clean, architectural lines. The subtle texture and elongated shape of Genesi 26 softens the look of a full tile wall for a fresh and modern take on subway tile. Gold wall-mounted faucets by Phylrich catch the eye on a backdrop of dark tile over the bath and sinks. A floating  walnut twin vanity paired with sleek mirrors that extend to the ceiling brings spacious, mid-century style to the design.

Combining recessed fixtures, a sculptural pendant over the bath and sconce lighting above the vanity helps to illuminate the space and eliminate shadows. Carefully layered lighting adds dimension and keeps it light and bright around the dark tile. Softer textures in the woven detail of a vintage rug, a striped basket planter, a small wicker table and Turkish towels provide warm contrast to the smooth, glossy surfaces.
