Indigo and Arabescato

Kirk Riley Design, a boutique interior design studio based  in Seattle, specializes in vintage residential renovation. Tasked with the challenge of renovating a Tudor style home in the Queen Anne neighborhood, designer Heather Kirk constructed a fresh and contemporary look for the kitchen using PentalQuartz while maintaining the original character of the home.

Cabinets painted in a light indigo pair brilliantly with the bright white marble look of PentalQuartz in Arabescato. A wall of windowed cabinets finished with a trellis inlay mimics an antique hutch and adds a vintage touch to the updated kitchen. A custom hammered copper range hood pairs with the dark burnished metal of the cabinet hardware and faucet. To gain more food storage capacity without compromising on style, the custom paneled refrigerator and freezer are supported by an additional refrigerator drawer and a beverage unit in the adjacent bar area. By installing double ovens in a wall of cabinets, the area underneath the stovetop functions as convenient and functional pull out storage for pots and pans. The natural oak wood accents give a look of integrated furniture, also echoed in the adjacent bar area.

To achieve a similar style, consider a backsplash of our chevron pattern Marvel Stone tile in Bianco Dolomite Lappato or the ceramic Arrow tile line and one of the many marble-look PentalQuartz countertop colors.
