A Professional Edge

Winning the First Place award for Large Kitchen design from the National Kitchen and Bath Associations Puget Sound Chapter, this gorgeous chef’s kitchen renovation comes to you from Gail Monica Dent of Provanti Designs.

Packing a long list of features into her client’s dream kitchen, Dent designed a restaurant-like kitchen with specialized food and equipment storage, lots of individual work space, a custom baking center, high-end appliances and in-kitchen dining. Because of the limited wall space available, her layout called for an island that is over 15 feet long. A waterfall edge was installed at one end and bar-height seating at the other to break the island’s length up into beautiful and functional zones. PentalQuartz in Avenza was used for the island and perimeter countertops bringing remarkable durability, stain-resistance and elegance to a kitchen designed to perform. The soft grey veining of Avenza works especially well for longer expanses with its subtle but not overpowering natural marble pattern.

Under the counters, rich walnut grain island cabinets are juxtaposed with crisp white perimeter cabinets. For the backsplash, Pental Surfaces Parc 3D Bloom tile in Steel Grey ads rich movement and texture, softening the visual length of the kitchen while coordinating with the stainless appliances and painted walls in the open concept living space. Matching the cherry red color of the knobs on the Wolf range, pops of color throughout the kitchen give the palette a playful yet professional edge.
